Make Hunger History - December, 2009 Festive spirits burned during Orchard Park Shopping Centre’s Shopping to Make Hunger History. Holiday shoppers, participating retailers, and the Kelowna Fire Department celebrated in the joy of giving, raising over $4,400 in cash and 285 pounds of food for the Kelowna Food Bank.
Canada Post Food Drive - November 21, 2009 The 10th annual Canada Post Food Drive was a huge success as Central Okanagan residents give generously. Canada Post Employees spend Saturday collecting and delivering over $81,600.00 in food right to the food bank’s doors.
“The Canada Post Food Drive is our largest single day campaign filling our shelves for winter,“ says Lavers. “Over 21,000 food items were received filling 37 apple bins each weighing 800 lbs.” Non-perishable food items were received from every postal code with the largest contribution coming from the downtown V1Y district.

Lime West Media Landmark Buildings and Kids Care Okanagan Chateau Kelowna Gospel Church- raised more than 1,000 pounds of food. Kraft Hunger Challenge - June, 2009 Kraft Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Association of Food Banks, will match donations made to food banks dollar-for-dollar up to $150,000. The Kelowna 'Back to your Roots' expo welcomes you to attend for free, Sunday, May 31 at the Kelowna Curling Club. Come down to discover first hand the latest cutting edge products and technologies that offer solutions to your everyday gardening problems. Make sure to stop by the Kelowna Community Food Bank's booth and register for the Plant a Row Grow a Row program - pick up your seeds and grow an extra row of fruits and/or vegetables for the Food Bank. Family Fun Day - May 2009 It's the annual Family Fun Day at the Parkinson Recreation Centre! We are looking for volunteers to help out at this event. Wander through the Obstacle Course and Bounce House. Kelowna Minor baseball Association - April 2009 Donated their skills, time and energy to support the "Stuff the Food Bank van" at the opening day of the Kelowna Minor Baseball Association. This drive netted over 1500 pounds of non perishable goods!
